Part 3: The Park Visit
Bubbles Goes to the Park
The sun rays from the window pane slowly shone into my eyes. I reluctantly opened them and got out of my bed and stretched my hindlegs. A sweet scent caught my nose and I started to follow it. I saw that my masters were sitting and sipping something from a cup. It smelt delicious. I was curious and ran towards them in excitement. I wagged my tail and squealed at them. I tried to reach their cup. The man lifted me and placed me on a bench next to them and gave me crumbs of cookies. I licked a few pieces and put a small piece in between my paws and tried to nibble on it.Once I finished it and looked through the window adjacent to my bench, I was surprised to see a lot of trees, big buildings ,a huge ground and other dogs barking around. Woof woof!I barked at them. The man and his wife giggled.
I was loving the attention they were giving me and I repeatedly barked at the other dogs. After a while the lady got me a bowl of soft chunks of food. It caught my attention and I started to cry. I was scared to get off the bench I was sitting on. The man put me back on the floor and I tried to jump for the bowl of food. She placed it down on the floor and I gobbled it up. She ran her fingers through my fur while I ate. Soon after, the man and his wife took me down the elevator. Before we sat in the car, we went to an open ground which I saw from the window. They left me to walk around. I was so excited and tinkled in some places. I went back to them and my owner picked me and placed me back in the rear seat of the car and said ‘’Let’s go to the Park”. I was so confused and terrified about where they were taking me this time. I tried to balance in the rear seat as long as we travelled. The car halted outside two huge gates. I squealed as they got out of the car. I wanted to go too.
They put a collar and a leash around my neck and they carried me to the Park. The park was so huge with hundreds of trees , wild grass and flowers. They unleashed me to move around. I could smell fresh air. I saw a lot of other people walking, running and playing in the park. I was confused and was sniffing around to find the familiar scents. Far away I heard other puppies barking. I looked at my owners and ran towards the other puppies. They followed me.
We reached the puppies. There was a man who was dressed in a uniform and stood next to the puppies. He swung open a bag full of snacks. He pet me as soon as I got to him. He lifted me and said “Who is this little beauty? New to the park! ”. My owners introduced me as Bubbles. The man let me down and allowed me to play with the other puppies “ Sasha and Meetu”. They were german shepherds like me. We rolled over the grass, pinned each other and chased each other. After a while I got tired and sat down beside my owners. They were talking to the man to train me. He stated we could start in two weeks time. He asked the owner to train me to sit, roll, sleep , turn around and jump. The conversation ended. Soon after they provided me with a bucket of water and some kibble to eat. We continued to play with the ball. In Between, we chased a few parrots that flew away as we got near them. The parrots would come back to peck some apples that had fallen on the ground. It was a fun filled day for me. I jumped around with excitement and wagged my tail to express my happiness. My owners waved goodbye to the man who made us play and we returned home. I slept throughout and lost track of time. All I heard was some faded voices of my owners talking about hosting dinner for their friends and their pets.
